THERAPY: Adults, Couples & Adolescents
I utilize an integrative approach that is adapted for the specific needs and desires of my clients. A Systemic approach is useful in understanding the challenges facing individuals and how best to address them, whilst psychodynamic insight can assist in formulating a comprehensive treatment plan. I have received training in Psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Using an eclectic approach allows me to design a specific treatment plan for each client. As a therapist I believe the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance and should be a space where my clients feel safe, comfortable and supported in reaching their therapeutic goals.
I have a particular interest in assisting individuals with the following concerns:
- Relationship challenges
- Personality Disorders
- Sport Psychology
Couple/marriage therapy can assist in improving communication and intimacy between two individuals in an intimate relationship. One of the goals of couple’s therapy is aimed at recognizing and resolving conflicts in a way that enhances the relationship and contributes to a better understanding of one another. Couple therapy can address issues such as communication difficulties, childrearing, sexual challenges, blended families, substance abuse, financial problems, infidelity and anger management. Couples can include any intimate relationship whether heterosexual or homosexual, married or not. Using the theoretical framework of Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) helps to address the challenges facing the couple in a collaborative and respectful manner.
